Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici

Our complaints were handled so poorly that we ended up doubting the hotel management's competence. We couldn't shower for two days because water from the floor above backed up into our shower. It wasn't properly fixed until the second day. There were pests in the room too. They apologized, but said nothing could be done about the price, which felt outrageous. We were moved to another room for the final night. The hotel has potential, and its location is fairly quiet, but the different sections are only loosely connected. The only link to the train station is a shuttle, while getting to restaurants outside the complex means paying for a very expensive taxi. Extending the shuttle into town would help. We had booked several nights, and for this price range I would expect much better operations. Until they make major improvements, I strongly advise against staying here.

Golfers will love being able to walk straight to the tee box, and we played two rounds during our four nights at the Sheraton 1. The staff made the stay especially nice: they were polite, attentive, and even the kitchen team helped with my vegan diet. The hotel does need work, particularly with the plumbing. I know it's an old property, and I can see they've put effort into it. Thank you.

The orange juice at breakfast says a lot: it looked like dirty water and tasted about the same. My room was filthy, and there was a half-empty water bottle in the fridge when I arrived. The AC was noisy but barely cooled the room, and hot water took around five minutes to come through. It's okay if you just need somewhere to sleep, but I wouldn't make it a destination.

I was moved to room 2414 after reporting what I found in the toilet of my first room, which I believe was 2407. The replacement had towels with holes and no working hot water in the shower, so I had to use the handheld hose in the bathtub. It didn't seem anyone had checked that the new room was ready. At the front desk, they offered a free drink as compensation for the large amount of human waste left in the toilet. I can't see how that could make up for something so unsanitary. There was no follow-up from management. The Duty Manager never checked whether the new room was okay or offered a personal apology. I emailed the hotel right after check-out, and three days later I still hadn't heard back. I've had more cleanliness and care in modest hostels. This was easily the worst hospitality experience I've had, and I hope management takes it seriously. Paying guests deserve better.
