Albergo Villa Rosa

Super!

What stayed with me was the owner's (?) response to a group of at least eight people with disabilities who came with four support workers to the hotel bar this afternoon for coffee and drinks. One person was blind, and with no ramp and very steep steps, getting to the outside tables was difficult. The man called out, “It’s wet! It’s wet!” The workers, looking utterly resigned, had to leave. They were far more restrained than I would have been. Only after everyone had struggled back down the steps did he say, “If you want, I’ll dry you off.” I can’t help reviewing a scene that struck me as petty and uncivil. I realize reviews are usually for rooms, service, and food, but I had no other way to judge the kind of people involved.

We had a lovely surprise with our group’s welcome dinner. It was three courses plus dessert, and every dish was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little dated, but still beautiful, simple, warm, and, above all, clean. Congratulations!

The owners are professional and friendly, and they really know how to make you feel at home. This historic villa has a warm, welcoming feel, with home-style flavors alongside refined dishes. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staying here is a pleasure.
