Casa Raphael is set on a hillside among lovely mountains, in a spacious old park. The grounds feel like an Italian palace, with beautiful paintings in the halls and elegant ceiling decorations and artwork. The rooms are large and comfortable, with big bathrooms designed for comfortable showers. Everything was very clean. The food was fantastic, mostly vegetarian with fish sometimes. It’s a refined four-star Belle Époque-style hotel, with attentive service from qualified therapists. Casa Raphael combines a thermal spa and medical rehabilitation facility, following an integrated medicine approach that brings conventional care together with anthroposophical and natural therapies. In the evenings there are concerts, dances, and interactive sessions with the medical team and chef.

I was worn out after working nonstop for 12 years, so I spent about two weeks at Casa Raphael in August 2024 hoping to recharge. It went beyond what I expected. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff, and made me feel welcome right away. I don’t speak Italian, but they knew enough English to help me feel at ease. The food was fresh, healthy, and delicious at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, easily five-star quality. The waiters were phenomenal, like they’d picked the best in the country, and I never felt I was waiting for my meal. I tried therapeutic massages, which were a different thing from the usual deep tissue or feel-good massage. I think they’re meant to help relieve pain. I’d had shoulder trouble for four years from Crossfit, and after two sessions the masseuse worked wonders. I could lift my arm and hold it above my head without pain for the first time in a long while. I also took a water color painting class. The instructor’s poetic explanations helped me picture the artwork almost right away, and the paintings seemed to reflect where I was at personally, which made it even more insightful. The rooms were spacious, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the Alps from the patio were breathtaking. Good meals with that view, conversations with staff and other guests, and time to recharge my mind, body, and soul made the stay more than I could have hoped for. I can’t wait to return.

Casa RAPHAEL is no longer a “Casa di Cura.” It’s just a hotel now, with benefits mainly coming from the nurses and the food. There aren’t doctors who can help with your illness, though it was different some time ago…

Set in a splendid park that’s kept in meticulous shape, this is a rare place for natural and water therapies, art, and culture. The doctors and therapists bring deep expertise and real kindness, whether you come for a peaceful break in the Trentino Alps or a period of healing. The herbal baths and compresses are renowned, and the cuisine is high quality. There are also concerts, seminars, and artistic therapies such as Eurythmy, painting, and handicrafts. A center devoted to body, soul, and spirit. Highly recommended for its high, unparalleled quality!
