The snowy hike from Rifugio Serot was a highlight. It had snowed overnight, leaving knee-deep snow, and the staff helped us plan our route. The owners were warm and attentive, and the wood interior, fireplace, and cute wooden details made the place feel cozy. We slept well on solid mattresses, and the basic shower and toilet worked fine with hot water. Wifi was reliable too. The home-cooked food was a real treat: apple risotto, well-textured bread dumpling (Knödel), tender deer Gulasch with smooth whole grain polenta, wild mushrooms and melted cheese, then warm brioche with lemon cream and homemade blueberry jam. New Year’s Eve dinner was less impressive, probably because there were around 150 people. The bresaola ravioli with ricotta and caramelized onions was the standout. The DJ kept things lively with a good mix of music until 3 am. A memorable stay.

The traditional food gets a modern twist, and the starters were amazing. Prices were honest, and the friendly staff were helpful. We loved the beautifully renewed mountain hut and its lovely views across the valley and surrounding mountains. What more could you ask for? Bravo, see you soon!

I’ve stayed at this little rifugio four times now, and we’re sure to come back. It’s child and dog friendly, and the rooms are comfortable and cosy. Highly recommend.

After a long walk, we arrived after 2pm looking for something to eat. They were very kind and hospitable to us.

After an unplanned descent from Passo della Portela, I asked for somewhere to sleep after 21:00. I was wet and had a headache and fever, but they refused. Then they carried on with their party. This place doesn’t deserve to be called a "rifugio".
