The house was lovely, with a pool and everything else we needed. It costs a bit more, but you can stay on the peninsula and still find all the services you need there. It was interesting that most of the guests were Italian, so it felt like we were really staying in Italy.

The pool house was super, and we had a great vacation. There’s plenty to do in the park: restaurants with decent food, playgrounds, pools and entertainment for kids, plus free fitness equipment, a tennis court, and golf. The fitness gear is getting a bit old. The beach is somewhat private, and you have to rent a beach chair for 30 euros. We thought that was far too much and a little ridiculous, so we didn’t. Walk a bit farther and you can use your own beach gear. With the warm weather and my pregnant wife, that wasn’t ideal, but it was okay. Bring your own bikes if you can, since getting around the island in hot weather is a challenge. Rentals are available, but the bikes aren’t great. There are also lots of mosquitoes at night, and sitting outside the house can feel like being eaten alive. There are plenty of things to repel them, though. We had a great time and will come back.
Albarella feels welcoming and secure, a place to relax and enjoy some time to yourself. You can leave the house open in the morning, spend the day at the beach, shopping, or seeing friends and family elsewhere, then come back in the evening to find everything untouched. If you want somewhere to unwind and have fun, this is the place.
I've spent a couple of weeks here every year for the past 23 years. For me, it’s the best choice in Veneto: a guarded private island with quiet rental houses, a long beach, and plenty of room without crowds.
The island’s particular charm is still there after 35 years, even though the owner hasn’t given it as much attention as I would have liked. At last, we can see some repairs and improvements happening. With so many Italian homeowners, it has a special mix of holiday resort and little Italian village. The people and lovely climate make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Once the island’s magic gets hold of you, leaving is hard, and if you do have to go, you’ll come back to your home away from home.
