Hotel Sant Ilario

The venue itself was okay, but the rest of the stay was a huge disappointment. Dinner for 33 people cost us over a thousand euros, and what we got was an overcooked, hard hamburger and pasta with tomato sauce. It was disgraceful for that price. Our three-person rooms only had two proper beds; the third was a very uncomfortable fold-out. Breakfast was limited to coffee, bread, ham, and cheese, yet cost almost 7€. After charging us so much for dinner, they also made us leave while we were still drinking wine. The staff's attitude was unpleasant throughout.

The hotel was very clean, though pretty basic, and the rooms were small. At night especially, the nearby railway and highway noise was hard to miss, with lots of freight trains passing on their way to Austria. Breakfast was very basic as well. Next time I'm in the area, I'll look for somewhere else.

The town centre is about a 25-minute walk, and a taxi from the railway station cost 8 Euro. The place was clean, comfortable and simply set up, with good Wi-Fi and a pizzeria and restaurant next door. It was professionally run and everyone was cordial. I'd happily stay again.

The restaurant was a highlight, with plenty of seafood and fish dishes, and the service was pleasant. Rooms are standard, some looking out toward the hills, and they have smoking balconies.
