That clean pool was a lovely place to unwind after our work at the Grisignano Fair. We rented the ground floor for six nights, and the house had all the comforts we needed. Since it’s a vacation rental, though, you do need to bring your own basics. The place is tucked into greenery and quite close to the fair. The owners live next door and were always available if we needed anything. Their sweet, friendly Rottweiler kept us company, and we couldn’t help getting attached to her. Saying goodbye was hard. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

The Euganean Hills were lovely for easy walks and hikes, though you may need to drive about five minutes to get started. At this time of year the area wasn’t crowded, which made it especially relaxing. There was so much nature around, from olives, palms, flowering trees and figs to rabbits and farm animals. Back at Casale Gelsomino, the garden and its big, beautiful pool were a joy, and the cottage felt cozy and practical, with plenty of room and inviting spots indoors and out. We stayed with Manuela and Silla as a family just after Easter, and felt at home from the start. They and their friendly, well-behaved Rottweiler Reya were wonderful hosts. The apartment made us want to stay in, baking, cooking and eating together. Manuela and Silla were so welcoming and gave us great suggestions for little village trattorias with regional or simply delicious food that we wouldn't have found on our own, plus ideas for excursions. It was a holiday from the first minute. Highly recommended, and grazie per tutto, cari Manuela e Silla!

We only got to spend one day there, but it felt like a little paradise in the greenery at the foot of the Euganean Hills. A great spot for a relaxing weekend, and the owner was incredibly friendly, approachable and helpful. I was more surprised by how little politeness and good manners some of the people on holiday showed than by the Rottweiler. She was tied up in her little house for almost the whole day, poor thing, but she's truly lovely and cuddly. We had a fantastic Ferragosto. Highly recommended!
