Hotel Pineta Wellness & Spa

There’s a nice pool with plenty of seating, and the rooms were clean. The staff were really nice too, but I can’t quite work out this place. At breakfast we got plastic bowls and cups, which feels wrong for a 4-star hotel. The breakfast itself wasn’t great, with crunchy melon and not much choice. In the evening I asked for a beer and was offered Heineken or a German one. I’d hoped for something local. The car park was full of rubbish and broken glass, and I had to ask for more toilet paper because housekeeping hadn’t replaced what was left. The toilet and shower are together in one room, which wasn’t ideal for a family of four. There’s no shower screen, so using the bath is the only way to avoid flooding the floor. The attention to detail just isn’t there. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.

This hotel has potential, but the experience was just okay, not great. Staff at reception made excuses, and when I asked to share feedback with the general manager, I was told she was busy because they had a party that evening. They said someone would get back to me, but no one did. On Sunday night we wanted to eat at the hotel, only to be told the restaurant was closed. When we asked for somewhere local, reception named three restaurants. They first told me to Google the phone numbers, and only gave them after I pushed. One had a sign saying it was closed until September when we arrived. Another problem came when we tried to have lunch by the pool. The attendant had to go back and forth because so much of what we wanted wasn’t available. They’d run out of canned tuna and tramezzini, so we had to settle for what was left. Our room was by the pool, but there was no Wi-Fi there. A 4-star hotel should have staff who smile, make guests feel welcome, and help provide a good experience.

We slept incredibly well, it was totally quiet. The room near the pool was excellent, and the shower’s sliding door was a nice touch. Breakfast was a little weak, but we had a great stay.

The hotel is very clean, the rooms are large and comfortable, and the price is fairly low. There are several nice small towns and an outlet store within a 15-minute drive. The town itself is nice, with a few decent little restaurants, though they’re pricey. The bigger problem is the parties. We were there for a week, and from Friday through Sunday there were events, mostly weddings, that made the parking lot, pool, and other hotel areas unavailable to regular guests. I understand hosting weddings and putting up wedding guests for a day or two, but it didn’t feel okay for the hotel to block access to facilities for people already staying there. It felt like they were selling the same thing to two groups. Breakfast was also very basic, small, and the same each day. Sometimes there were different cakes when a wedding had taken place the day before. I wouldn’t recommend it for tourists, though it may suit wedding parties.
