TH Assisi- Hotel Cenacolo

The carpet had a bit of a smell, so we had to open the windows to air the room out. The reception service wasn’t very nice either. I booked three rooms at the same standard and price, but they weren’t consistent: the rooms differed in size and the service varied. Some didn’t have a kettle for coffee or tea, or the standard water mentioned on the website. When I asked, they said those things were only available in some rooms, but the website doesn’t explain the differences.

A lot of people in our group went back to Assisi for dinner on the second and third nights instead of eating at the hotel. Six people stayed behind, but the kitchen withheld their prepaid meals because the others weren’t there. That was awful. The dining room service was terrible, and breakfast was poor too. I work in the food business, and they could certainly have done a better job with the bacon and scrambled eggs served to our group each morning. I'm of Italian heritage and proud of it, but this gave Italians a bad name. The hotel was very nice, while the service overall was mediocre. We’d just left after our tour of Assisi. Whoever was responsible for this should be terminated.

Assisi left a deep impression on me. Its beauty, history, and peaceful feeling are so special. Walking its cobblestone streets, visiting the Basilica of Saint Francis, and seeing the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis were unforgettable and touched my heart. Staying at Hotel Cenacolo was the highlight of my trip to Italy. The hotel is elegant, beautiful, peaceful, and spotless, with kind, attentive staff who were always ready to help with a smile. My room was comfortable and luxurious, and the air conditioning worked wonderfully, so I could finally sleep cool and comfortably. Breakfast had lots of fresh, tasty options, and the calm atmosphere was lovely for relaxing and reflecting. It’s also well placed for exploring Assisi and the area around it. I can’t recommend Hotel Cenacolo and Assisi enough. Add them to your Italy trip, you won’t regret it.

There were little flying bugs in our room, and we’ve killed three so far. The room was boiling because the air conditioning wasn’t working. I thought it might cool down while we were out at dinner, but it didn’t. At the front desk they said they were calling maintenance. When I went back before bed, they told me two machines weren’t working. I asked for another room with air conditioning, but was told it was the whole hotel. I’d leave for another hotel, but we’re with a tour group. There’s no coin laundry and no pool, either. One of the older male waiters at dinner was just plain rude. It wasn’t a translation or understanding issue. I had to shower to cool off, but the water was so cold I couldn’t even put my head under it. Luigi, the bartender, was very nice, friendly, and accommodating.
