B&B Casa del Mao

Leaving was the hard part. We loved our stay and will definitely return. The view is breathtaking, and every morning Irene put together a wonderful breakfast with local treats, including her grandparents' yogurt with raspberries, speck, and mountain cheeses. The owners are lovely, and the Guasco family cat is a curious mascot who seems to run the place. Casa del Mao is far more than we expected, with careful vintage-style furnishings and thoughtful touches everywhere, from the rolled blanket by the bed and chocolates on the dresser to organic toiletries in the bathroom.

We stumbled on this remote area while mountain biking, and the Val de Mis turned out to have a particular charm, with its mining past and the ghost town of California. Casa del Mao makes a great base for exploring the quiet surroundings and the striking mountain landscape of the Belluno Dolomites. It’s a very nice private house in a fantastic spot, with a cozy room, a pleasant eat-in kitchen, and a modern, comfortable bathroom. Breakfast is generous and carefully prepared, with nothing missing. A real recommendation for anyone among these wild, lonely mountains.

Irene and Flavio are so kind and attentive. This is a lovely spot for a romantic weekend, or just for being spoiled like a star. Come visit! 😍😍😍
