The surrounding area is wonderful for hiking, and the scenery is beautiful. We enjoyed the tasty food, thought it was decent value, and found the family room charming, if a little sparsely furnished. The host family was very friendly despite the language barrier, especially Lucia and Francesco. The booking through Expedia was a frustrating part of the stay. The room matching the photos was given to us only after two escalations. Apparently Expedia assigns specific room numbers, and the “great family room” with the large window is room 201. We managed to show that rooms beyond the two lower categories could be booked through Expedia. This was an avoidable hassle at check-in and took away from what should have been a trip highlight. It left us feeling a bit like we’d been misled, since the manager and/or Expedia seemed to have lied during booking or check-in.

The food was the standout for us. After trips all over Italy, dinner here ranks among my favorite experiences, so be sure to reserve a table at the restaurant. The family and staff were extremely welcoming, and prices were reasonable. Set in the hills above the sea, the hotel is well placed, and the rooms are modern, clean, and nicely furnished. We’d happily come back.

The pool and setting are wonderful, and the staff were fantastic. Our room stayed perfectly clean throughout, and the air conditioning worked really well. It’s a gorgeous place for families, with fresh, delicious food too. We love it here and hope to return soon.

The pool was genuinely nice, and the mountain views and location were lovely. The road can be quite curvy if you come from the north, though. Dinner was very good, but it wasn’t included and there was no menu. The receptionist served us and listed the options, but we weren’t told any prices. The bill came to 50 Eur, including a cover charge, which surprised us as hotel guests. Breakfast was basic, just some good cakes, cornflakes, yogurt, fruit, and coffee or tea. Check-in felt cold and unwelcoming. We arrived in the afternoon and found nobody by the car park except someone working in the garden, who pointed us to reception. There, someone confirmed the booking without a smile, welcome, introduction, or explanation of the place or its “agro” side. We waited 20 minutes for him to finish checking in before getting our key. Room 105 on the first floor, shown in the photos, was nothing like the standard double room we thought we had booked from The booking website. The photos seemed to show a larger bedroom and bathroom, while ours felt small and uninviting. Maybe the pictured room is upstairs, and I’m not even sure it costs the same. The closet was awkward to use, opening at an uncomfortable angle, with hangers too high. There was nowhere to hang hand or shower towels, the shower was so narrow I hit the sides, and the toilet paper was nearly gone with no spare roll. At 6 am we woke to noise from the next room through very thin walls and from the coffee machine in the shared hallway. The bed was very stiff and hard to sleep on. The pillows were okay, even though two were in one pillowcase. There were no pool towels, so I had to use my own clean one. The main reason we booked was the pool. I’d rate the place four stars if someone had made an effort to talk to us, welcome us, or even smile.
