The good breakfast was the one bright spot. I’m from Rome, so I know city noise, but the port activity here kept going through the night. My room had no double glazing, and I barely slept. When I mentioned it the next day, the owner confirmed the room wasn’t soundproof, saying, “Not all rooms are soundproof.” I only stayed one night, and would have left if I’d booked longer. It really is living by the port. I don’t know how they can charge €78 for a room like this when guests are bound to be disappointed. In my view it isn’t worth it, and I wouldn’t stay again.

For €40, we got a triple room with a minibar, free milk, and coffee, which is why I gave it five stars for value. The place is a room rental, so don’t expect hotel luxury or all the comforts, but it has what you need: an ensuite bathroom with towels, Wi-Fi, and a TV. The hosts were kind and not intrusive, and the place was clean. The only flaw I noticed was dust on the bathroom fan, as shown in the photo, but that didn’t reflect the rest of the place at all.
