B&B D'Angleterre

We spent two nights here with my partner and loved the sea-and-sky view. The B&B is gorgeous, small, and right in central Salerno, with incredible value. It’s above a really fun bar, and the guy who checked us in was super nice and helpful. Breakfast was small, but honestly, the city’s cafe culture is worth exploring anyway.

The room was clean and nicely decorated, but my stay was very disappointing. I booked room Fortuna specifically, with a photo on the booking confirmation, yet was given room Anna. When I asked on day 2, the host said “the system” had assigned me Anna and that I couldn’t move because the other room was occupied. They said there was no difference, but there was. I chose a particular room for a reason. There was also confusion over the guest count. I had booked a double room but accidentally selected one guest instead of two. The B&B tried to charge an unreasonable amount for the extra person, though the website and booking confirmation didn’t state that charge. After a heated discussion on arrival, it turned out they had given me incorrect information, and they eventually waived the fee. We stayed five nights, but never got fresh towels, even though housekeeping and a linen change were supposed to happen on day 4. I had to ask for an extra toilet roll and bin bag, which were left outside the room, and we emptied the bin ourselves. The bathroom in room Anna was very small. Breakfast was a letdown, with yoghurt from the fridge, packaged sweet buns, cornflakes, and coffee in bags. There were no fresh pastries or produce like in the advertising pictures, so we went out for breakfast every day. The location in the old town is alright, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, but it’s quite far from the train station and main ferry dock.

A beautiful B&B in a great location, but the hosts really made it special. Thank you, Mario and Fortuna!

It’s right in the middle of town, and everything was perfect. The place has an old-fashioned feel.
