Our privacy was seriously compromised, and I can't recommend this place. We were told 13 students would have four rooms, plus two more for the supervising staff. Instead, six of us were crammed into one room with pop-up beds shoved into the corners. We were also expected to keep all the rubbish in our room until collection day, which made it smell, especially with twice as many people as promised. The landlord's mother used our entry code without warning, barged in, and shouted at us about noise and unwashed dishes, even though it was dinner time. She did the same to the girls in the next room while they were changing. There were only two legal adults between the two rooms, and everyone else was underage, so this was completely unacceptable. She then told the only Italian-speaking person in our room that she'd have been much nicer if she'd known he was Italian. We should all be treated the same whatever language we speak. We reported this to the landlord, who said it wouldn't happen again, but it should never have happened in the first place. I'd strongly advise against staying here if you're visiting Salerno.

The blue room had a mountain view and felt cozy and relaxing, just right for a little escape. We spent two nights and three days at Il Papavero in Salerno and had a wonderful time. The owners were kind and helpful, and the apartment was spotless, tidy, and very well cared for. We'd happily return and recommend it.

From Maria to Umberto, the staff were wonderful and helped us with several things connected to the commitment that brought us to Salerno. The room is lovely, painted a beautiful blue, and came with kitchen utensils, welcome water, cocoa, and more. Il Papavero is in a very convenient spot, with all the amenities just a few minutes' walk away, and the price is excellent. Go there.

We had a super comfortable stay in a terrace room with our two children, aged 14 and 6. There was space to relax outside in the evening, along with a large clothes dryer. The room was clean, the plumbing all worked, and the little cosmetic flaws didn't bother us. It had what we needed, including basic dishes, tea, coffee, and a coffee machine, and there was also a washing machine. We were warmly welcomed, and the hostess met us when we arrived and was always available. Cleaning and linen changes happen every three days, so you'll need to keep things tidy yourself between visits.

We came from Puglia for a massage competition at the Hotel Mediterranea and spent three days and two nights here. The room was spacious and beautiful, with a deep blue color that made it feel very relaxing, and we had all the comforts we needed. The owner welcomed us with real kindness and politeness, and was so helpful. Highly recommended if you need a place in Salerno for a few days!
