Getting around was a real problem. The apartment is nowhere near the sea and feels isolated. You need a car, or you have to rely on taxis, since you can't get there on foot. The listing didn't explain this properly, and I felt misled. Inside, the place felt neglected, dirty, and uncomfortable from the moment I arrived. The sheets and towels were visibly used and dirty, but the owner insisted they were clean and smelled good. That was plainly untrue and honestly insulting. The host first acknowledged the problems and promised a refund for 1.5 days. Then the offer changed to a 50% refund, ignoring what had been said earlier. The whole experience was stressful and upsetting. For the price and the way I was treated, it wasn't worth it at all. I don't recommend this property.

There was a huge balcony with a view over the whole city, and the WiFi worked well. We also found plenty of free street parking. The room was warm, well equipped, and had effective heating. The bathroom was spacious and very clean, and towels were provided. We'd expected a kitchen from the photos, but there was barely more than a microwave. Breakfast wasn't really enough for an adult, especially since earlier guests took food from other tables that had been set up in advance. The staff's English wasn't very good, though we managed to understand one another. Even so, I'd stay here again.

The beds were clean and comfortable, and the view was cool. The owner was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. Just be ready for a bit of a hill if you're walking up.

My brother, sister, and I had a great time in Salerno, and we enjoyed staying at Le Ginestre just as much. The staff treated us really well, answered our questions about the city, and recommended places to eat. We'd definitely stay again when we return! :)
