Borgo Ronchetto Relais Gourmet

Breakfast was delicious, and everyone was kind and helpful. We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel surrounded by vineyards, and we'd stay again if we're in the area.

The room was pretty clean and quiet, but this place earned my “mosquito motel” nickname. We stayed one night before flying out of Venice airport, and I'd rate it 2.5. It was over 35C outside, and the AC wasn't on in our room. Inside it felt at least 45C, and it took 5 hours to cool even a little. The hall was cooler. It would've helped if they switched on the AC in rooms due to be occupied, since otherwise they were unbearable. Mosquitoes got into our room even though every window was shut. They don't bother me, but my daughter was covered in bites after sleeping, and my husband got bitten too. There are 4 ponds in front of the hotel, and only one had fish. The others looked unpleasant, and I mention them because they seemed like mosquito breeding grounds. When we arrived, nobody was at the front desk. We waited 15 minutes, called the hotel, then wandered around the property and found the desk person in the kitchen. A little bell at reception would let people announce their arrival. The beds were hard, the pillows very flat, and the extra twin bed was lumpy.

The wine list is extensive and has very good quality. There's also an incredible range of seafood, from appetizers to main dishes. And the tiramisu is heavenly.

The hotel views were stunning, and the staff were the nicest. When one of our tyres gave us trouble just as we were meant to check out, the desk lady and her father helped us get going, even though it was Sunday and everything was closed. We had an incredible stay and can't wait to come back!
