B&B Il Poggio

We had a magnificent view, and the mother and daughter who hosted us made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was informal and homely, and they really pampered us. The B&B is just outside Salò, a 10-15 minute walk from the center. Our triple room had a spacious bathroom and was immaculately clean. We were three on motorcycles, so having a garage just for our use made this worth five stars. Highly recommended as a base for a wonderful motorcycle tour of Lake Garda.

The lake view was nice, and I appreciated your courtesy and willingness to help. Still, the room was awful, even though it was clean. The bed seemed like something from a cologne, and the furnishings were just as bad, with a child’s desk alongside dated grandma-style chairs. On the balcony, the plastic tiles were slippery and the benches tipped over easily. The bedroom doors were plywood, so privacy felt optional. The breakfast room had grandma’s 1970s decor, with old spring chairs around a table covered in plastic. Breakfast was croissants and discount supermarket products, despite the €90 low-season price. The lack of professionalism was appalling. I don’t like playing barber on duty, but professionalism can’t be improvised. I’d strongly suggest taking a course in entrepreneurship in hospitality management. You could do much better. Good luck. Denise

We stayed in a comfortable, clean triple room. The woman running the B&B was lovely and attentive to everything we needed, and breakfast was not bad. It’s up in the hills of Salò, just a few minutes’ drive from the historic center. I recommend it.

The view from the B&B is splendid, but the rooms are bare and poorly kept, with dated furnishings. There’s no air conditioning or fan. Breakfast is all sweet, with pre-packaged pastries heated in the microwave.
