Hotel San Giovanni Resort

We had a small room, but it was charming and nicely decorated, if a little tired in places. The original monastery doors in the corridors are lovely, and the subtle lighting adds to the atmosphere. The beds were unusually good for an Italian hotel, with box-spring mattresses, nice linens, and two pillows. Alberto, I think, who managed breakfast, was absolutely charming and very helpful. Perfect spot, excellent staff, and we’ll definitely be back.

The location is great for walking into town and to restaurants, though the walk back is quite a workout. We had an inside room with a balcony facing the church, and the staff were very friendly. It’s a refurbished old convent, and we were lucky enough to catch a free classical concert in the church.

Being in a former convent gives the place a unique feel, and I felt comfortable and safe. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there were plenty of outlets for charging devices. Breakfast was smaller than I’d hoped, but there were enough options to get the day started. There’s lots to see within walking distance, and I’d recommend staying at least a night.

It was really relaxing to stay here. The complimentary minibar and jacuzzi were a nice bonus, and the suite is well worth considering. Our bedroom had lovely views over Saluzzo. It’s a quiet, charming hotel with free parking, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We picked it because it seemed like the best hotel in Saluzzo, and having stayed, we agree. If you’re driving, follow the hotel’s directions. Google Maps may send you up one-way streets, though it eventually gets you there if you take an alternative road. Also, visit the church attached to the courtyard. It’s one of the most historic I’ve seen.
