Magic Sea Vacation

The pool, the pretty outdoor space and the nice breakfast food were the good parts. But after seeing how the website describes the apartment, I can’t give it more than one star. It promises comfort and style, careful furnishings and a large bathroom with a spacious shower. That wasn’t our experience. The bed was painfully hard and hurt my back; the pillows were just as bad. There was only one sheet, no other bedding in the room, and the sheets were stained. The bed frame was falling apart, and the walls were in poor shape. There was a convertible couch in the kitchen, but no table for eating indoors. We got one roll of toilet paper for five nights. The shower was broken and held together with a zip tie, and there was no soap. We were meant to stay five nights but left after two, though we still paid for all five. The rooms aren’t soundproof, either. We could hear the upstairs neighbors talking, moving around, walking and cleaning, which made it hard to get a peaceful night or nap. There really wasn’t any comfort here, and I don’t understand how such a bad bed can be overlooked when people are paying to sleep there. Breakfast was served somewhere else, a five-minute drive or half-hour walk away. We weren’t told this beforehand. I don’t want to walk for 30 minutes under a burning sun for a breakfast I’ve paid for, and even having a car wouldn’t make this acceptable to me. The food itself was good once we got there. Staff didn’t speak English and hurried through explanations in Italian we couldn’t understand. They weren’t very patient, and it felt uncomfortable, almost like we were being dismissed for not getting it. The town itself doesn’t have much to offer, so you need to travel around for activities and restaurants. They should tell guests in advance that a car is needed and breakfast isn’t served on site. They also need to replace the mattresses, frames, bedding and pillows, provide a blanket or cover, clean the sheets properly, make more effort to communicate with tourists, and renovate the apartments. What’s there falls far short of what the website says.

Signor Cosimo is really friendly and ready to help with whatever you need. The place is clean and quiet, away from traffic and noise. Loved the reserved parking, grill and pool, and everything else.

The gardens and pool looked lovely, but the apartment made the stay miserable. It had a constant sewer smell, as did the other apartment, and we couldn't keep the windows open. The place we were given was dirty, with a kitchen missing what we needed for a two-week stay. There wasn't room for a dining table inside, so meals had to be eaten outside; when it rained, that meant standing or going to a restaurant. Hot water came only from solar panels. We had cold showers every morning for three days, from the 15th to the 18th, and an early shower was cold too. Sheets cost €20, with no weekly change included. We could wash them ourselves, but using the washing machine was another €10 per week. On our second night, we found a mouse in the bedroom. We argued with the owners for over an hour before they agreed to move us, at least for that night, and sanitize the apartment. They sanitized it, but didn't clean it, so we had to do that when we got back. For a long holiday, the accommodation was unlivable and absolutely not worth the money. I won't stay here again and strongly advise against it.
