Good rates, friendly staff, clean rooms, and a great location. The rooms could do with an update.

That lovely staff member who’s the chef, runs reception, and seems to do everything in between really stood out. We came in April as part of a big group and paid €50 a night, which felt like good value. At a higher price I’d have been disappointed, to be honest. The room was clean and has clearly been renovated since reviews from three years ago, but the accommodation is still pretty bare bones. Noise was the hardest part for me. You could hear toilets flushing, showers running, and people talking in the corridors, all far too loudly.

The location is pleasant, and parking was fine even in October. The food and breakfasts were good, homemade and plentiful, and they were accommodating with personal needs and intolerances. The rooms are well equipped, though sometimes you have to make do. It may be worth asking about the bathroom beforehand, to avoid ending up with a shower surrounded by a plastic ring curtain. I think it’s worth trying for a few days or a weekend.
