Hotel Mocambo

The service is actually not so bad.

The breakfast was a real highlight: homemade products and jams, a superb spread served by a lovely, very professional and kind woman. It had a Belle Epoque feel, and I even bought some of the jams. We also felt incredibly welcome from the start, and the man at reception was great. The rooms are comfortable, with lovely terraces, and the hotel is right by the sea. It's well suited to disabled guests, with just six steps and a convenient stairlift. The pool wasn't open yet, unfortunately. My one small gripe is the bed, which is almost comfortable, but could use a thicker topper for better sleep.

Roads were closed the next day for an event, and the hotel staff took time to let us know in advance and explain alternate routes and parking, so we wouldn't get stuck with the car. We were there just one night with a friend, on our way to my skating competition, and chose the place at short notice. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and they let us use two bicycles to ride easily along the seafront. I slept really well in the incredibly comfortable bed, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had at a hotel. The competition went well, partly thanks to that sleep and breakfast, which I wish I could have at home every day. I'd happily stay again, even on a summer weekend.

The breakfast was fantastic, with homemade cakes, bread and pizzas, plus a superb savory buffet. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and the place well maintained. Staff were friendly and professional. The photos speak for themselves. I'll definitely come back.
