The seafood first courses were carefully made, delicate, and full of flavor. I tried them all, including the seafood carbonara and spaghetti with seafood and clams, and each had its own distinct taste. The pizza dough was well leavened, with a crisp crust like a Neapolitan pizza. There's a quiet atmosphere here, with none of the tacky fake exposed brickwork, and the place feels like a Michelin-starred restaurant in Quistello. You can sit outside with friends, too. The location is the old pier of the pontoon bridge that stood here until the 1960s, and it looks like a nice warehouse from a shopping mall. So why shouldn't you go to Locanda dal Capitano? Because they don't serve the industrial or junk food I like, and instead of treating me like the Invisible Man to the Waiter, U.I.C., they give familiar, attentive service. We're not used to this kind of quality anymore. I recommend everyone to the giant, there they are...

We booked ahead for a small group and gave them the number of people, since there was a car show nearby. Even so, the food came incredibly late. By the time it arrived, we weren't hungry anymore. We were offered three menus, all terrible for the price and quality. I ordered pizza, which took two hours to arrive and was completely burnt underneath. We sat down at 1:30 PM and ate at 3:15 PM. They also made us pay in ADVANCE, which is obscene in a restaurant. The glasses were extremely dirty, and when we asked for clean ones, the replacements were just as dirty. Everything was terrible. Next time I'd go to the McDonald's near the train station. I'm sure the meal would be better for the price, and that says a lot.

The rooms are comfortable, and the countryside setting keeps things pleasantly quiet. It does leave you a bit far from everything, though.

We only stayed for a day, but found a restaurant we'd come back to. The rooms and services offer excellent value for money. On Saturday, service was attentive despite how busy it was. We tried the Seafood Carbonara, Mixed Fried Fish, which was better than the seafood one, and handmade tagliatelle with Muscovy duck, plus guanciale with polenta.
