San Candido has everything we needed for food and sport, and we had a great time skiing at Drei Zinnen and Kronplatz. Both are good for a day or two, depending on how much skiing you want. One real highlight was renting cross-country skis, taking the bus to Fischleintal, then skiing back to San Candido. Amazing. We also left the car behind for most trips and used the frequent, convenient buses and trains around the valley, including a train trip to ski at Kronplatz. I found the südtirolmobil app handy for checking times. As guests at Residence Rose, we got a travel card for bus and train travel in the valley. Parking in the yard or beside the building was very convenient, and there’s a good ski and boot room in the yard too. We stayed six nights in February 2026. The apartment was just right for us, clean, warm and comfortable, with a spacious bedroom, bathroom and sitting room. The small kitchen has a kettle and hob, enough for simple meals, though there’s no oven, microwave or toaster. Monica, who runs the apartments, was exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful. We’d love to come back and would gladly recommend Residence Rose and the area. Thanks to Monica and her family for making our visit even better.

The owner, Mrs. Monica, lives in the building and was very polite and helpful, ready to take care of whatever we needed. Check-in took under two minutes. There’s an elevator and free parking, but no air conditioning. The apartment options are either one bedroom with a kitchen and bathroom, or two bedrooms with a kitchen and bathroom. The location is in San Candido, close to everything, though the town is small so that’s true of most places. The center is about 100 meters away, with restaurants, cafes and a supermarket. Behind the apartments there’s a halal restaurant serving shawarma and sandwiches, and the cable car is around 200 meters away. I loved the view of the street and mountain, and added a photo of it. I stayed on August 29th and the weather was lovely, so there was no need for air conditioning. July or August might be hot, though, and you may need it then.
