PALAZZO PALESA B&B dimora storica

Super

You can feel the age of this B&B’s old building everywhere. I might have enjoyed it more in warmer weather, but during the cold spell the old windows, weak heating, and low water pressure left me unimpressed. The price is reasonable, so they needn’t cut corners. If the floors hold up, maybe others will appreciate the place.

Paolo and Flavia are wonderful hosts, and breakfast felt just like being at grandma’s house. We spent a night in this splendid old palace near the thermal baths, right in the heart of the village of Celle. It feels as though time has stopped, though it’s hard to pin down the era: it could be Etruscan, medieval, or late nineteenth century. Despite that, everything was wonderfully comfortable, from the bedrooms and bathroom to the breakfast room. There’s also an ancient, hidden garden filled with centuries-old plants and animals, including turtles. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Palesa. It’s a beautiful period property where time seems to have stopped, and a place to properly relax. There are Roman caves too, and the host was incredibly kind.
