Aman Rosa Alpina

The food was carefully prepared and presented, and the staff were impeccable every time we dealt with them. From arrival through departure, the whole stay was outstanding and thoroughly enjoyable.

I usually leave feedback through the post-stay survey and give a hotel a chance to address any problems. Aman Rosa Alpina never responded, unfortunately. The building is beautiful and was still in its soft-opening phase, but the service didn’t meet Aman standards. Our room’s AC wasn’t working properly. It took two calls and 35 minutes for someone to come look and bring a fan. Marie was excellent when she served us dinner at the Grill: attentive and thoughtful, and she even took the initiative to get a lovely sunset photo of us. It felt like the service you’d expect from Aman. After dinner, we signed the check and left without a gratuity. At Aman Venice, the front office had given us a letter saying tips could be left together for all the staff to share, so we assumed that worked the same way at Aman properties in Italy. Marie served us again the next morning, but seemed cold and distant, as though she didn’t recognize us. The change left a poor impression and felt unprofessional for a property of this caliber. Maybe American guests are more often expected to tip, but in most parts of the world a tip is a way to show appreciation, not something required. I usually tip generously. This experience was disappointing, though, and has made me hesitant to return.

We stopped in for drinks and dinner and were looked after well. The setting is beautiful, the flavors are great, and there’s a nice choice of meats alongside a huge list of premium wines. A real gem in the Dolomites. Can’t wait to come back!

The staff were so kind and attentive, and the magnificent hotel made our trip. Such an incredible experience!
