Circeo Park Hotel

We visited at the end of the season, October 3-5, and weren't expecting the full experience, so we were pleasantly surprised. The bar was closed on our last evening, but we took drinks from the fridge to our rooms instead, and there was no charge. The rooms were very clean, and we couldn't fault the restaurant team: the food was very good and the service excellent. Everyone was friendly. Hopefully they'll refresh the hotel over the winter, as it would be in their interest. We'd definitely stay again.

We came in June 2023, when the hotel seemed fairly empty, though I don't know why. The staff were attentive and friendly, and there's a beachfront restaurant and beach club. We had a comfortable bed, a strong Wi-Fi signal, and a balcony with views of both the ocean and mountains. The rooms are a bit dated and could use renovation, but we'd definitely come back.

This was a waste of money. The hotel was run down and badly maintained, with outdated 80s Xanadu-style rooms. The bathrooms were rusty and dirty, and the old roller door to the balcony was dangerous and wouldn't open or close. Carpet was coming loose throughout the hotel, making it unsafe to walk on. The staff were rude and acted annoyed when we asked about breakfast or renting a bike. Breakfast was very basic, and the service came with no smile. It was an expensive getaway, and we'd never recommend it. There are plenty of other places to see and stay.

The breakfast was excellent, but the heat made it impossible to rest. My room's air conditioning barely worked, and after four hours it was over 26c. The hotel said it was full and nothing could be done. Despite having air conditioning throughout the modern, well-equipped hotel, they had turned it off in the lounges, bars, and other public areas to save money, so there was nowhere to escape the humid heat. I barely slept and was exhausted at checkout the next morning.
