There are a few positives: friendly staff, a tennis court, a nice playground, and enough equipment. That’s about it. The camp is very crowded, and mobile internet barely works. It seems the transmitters could be strengthened, but the camp wants to sell Wi-Fi instead. That costs €6 a day and is just as poor: 120ms ping, 8mbit download, and 0.5mbit upload, not even enough for email. We found the required swimming caps annoying. A lifeguard monitors them while smoking right beside the pool, which hardly suggests good hygiene. The water on the slides by the upper pool smells like a river. Our Happy Camp Premium mobile home was poor quality. It wasn’t level, the chairs were broken, and the beds were narrow with bad pillows. The hot water would be scalding for a few seconds, then turn completely cold for a few seconds. The kids couldn’t even shower by themselves.

The pool area is really small for a campsite this size, and you have to wear a swim cap for “hygiene.” That’s odd when our house had mold on the wall and spider webs everywhere. We paid extra for air conditioning only to find it didn’t work properly, and the Wi-Fi we paid for barely worked either. No refund.

The location was lovely, the staff were nice, and the kids had fun. We really enjoyed the stay. The Wi-Fi was bad, but that was fine. The shower wasn’t great.

We stayed in EUROCAMP Comfort XL static caravan #137, which is wider than usual and well equipped. It sits high on the hill with a lovely, unobstructed lake view, perfect for breakfast or a drink. The lake pier is a great bonus, and the pools were fine, though it’s a shame they close at 7pm, before sunset. Air conditioning costs extra on top of the cabin price, and nobody told us. It was also too weak for the hot weather, so be aware. The restaurant food was reasonable, and there are plenty of other places to eat within a 20-minute drive.

The pitches are pleasant, with a few trees that give some sense of privacy, and the campground was quiet, which we appreciated. Electricity is included in theory, but the sockets are those three-pronged caravan plugs. If you don’t have an adapter, you’re out of luck, since they don’t rent them and assume everyone has one. There’s running water at each pitch, though the tap sprays you when you try to wash dishes. At 38€ a night for one tent and two people, I found it expensive for what you get: no hot water after 13h and run-down bathrooms. Maybe it works better if you have a mobile home or caravan and stay a week with your family, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a stop on a bikepacking trip.
