Weekend Glamping Resort

The restaurant is amazing and has a great view, and the kids absolutely love the pool. It’s a professionally run camping and glamping park, with helpful staff who speak lots of languages. There are many kinds of units to choose from. I’d compare the options carefully, since some have spectacular views that may be worth paying extra for.

We had a great four-night stay in August with our three children under six, in an XL loggia cabin. The resort didn’t feel crowded even though it was fully booked, and there were no cars driving around, which made it feel safer. The cabins are in a leafy area, so we barely needed the air conditioning, and they’re well insulated against noise. The staff were always smiling and helpful despite all the screaming kids. When a window in the children’s bedroom wouldn’t lock, maintenance came to fix it straight away at about 8pm. There’s loads for children to do, and the facilities made us feel safe having them around the resort. A few things could be better, though. The cabin could use more supplies like washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, and toilet paper. Our barbecue was basically an outdoor frying pan. Spotty club was DIRTY, and the kids came out needing a wash. For the price, they should at least wipe it down, or better, update it. The restaurant food was terrible, so stick to pizza, and the baby pool was really cold. The mini market had few options and a long break in the middle of the day, which is frustrating when nothing else is nearby. WiFi was weak and nearly unusable in several parts of the resort. For those reasons I’d give four stars, not five, though I would recommend it to families with small children.

We’ve stayed at three campsites in Italy, and this was the worst for service and accommodation. For nearly €600 for three nights, we got an old, unclean house with dirty kitchen utensils, dust, and cobwebs. The large bed was two small beds pushed together with bad mattresses, and it had two small bedspreads instead of one large one. Air conditioning came with an eight-hour credit card; once that ran out, we had to top it up and pay separately. That felt very low-class. Supplies were stingy too: just one toilet roll for four people and one packet of dish soap for three days. When we asked for more, we were told that was all they provide and we’d have to buy it at the shop. They don’t clean, but still expect you to leave the dishes clean without giving you soap. It’s more expensive than a hotel and comes with less service. At the bar, breakfast felt like a rip-off, and they wouldn’t even make toast with jam. If you want a croissant, they said, that’s all they have. The facilities are generally fine, but the photos make everything look much nicer than the worst house we got. A hotel would have cost less and been more comfortable. If you bring your own tent and everything you need, it might be fine. But for two or three days with kids, I don’t recommend it: it’ll cost more, and you’ll have to clean and work as if you were at home. They advertise entertainment, but it’s only for babies. If your children are over six, forget it.

The only real frustration was the loungers by the pool. The rule said towels would be removed if a lounger was left empty for 60 minutes, but it wasn’t enforced. Some guests claimed loungers in the morning, left their things, then disappeared, leaving others with small children and babies having to lie on the ground. Human rudeness really has no limits. We stayed in a four-bed bungalow with a terrace and gas grill, which we used to cook our meals. It wasn’t the most modern or perfect place, but it covered our basic needs. The campsite itself has a fantastic location and an unreal lake view. From our terrace we could see the whole shore of Saló. The staff were extremely friendly, the restaurant food was delicious, and there were pools, children’s activities, a playground, and a shop with everything we needed. We had one of our nicest holidays and will definitely see you again sometime. Thanks for a wonderful time!
