Sweet House Como

The church bells were extremely loud from 7am onwards, and the room was unbearably hot, so sleeping was impossible. We had booked two nights but left after one. The host refused a refund and was argumentative and aggressive. The balcony furniture was dirty, there was an ashtray full of cigarette butts, and one chair had a broken leg but had been left there, which could have hurt someone. There isn't a kitchen; there is only a shared kettle, microwave, and small fridge for three rooms near the entrance. The host later said we hadn't arrived at the check-in time given by booking.com. See the attached photos. I'd recommend finding somewhere else.

We booked late at night and still got a quick reply from the owner with instructions for entering the house. Everything was clean and nice, and the price was really good. Recommended.

The room was as cold as outside because the heating was completely off, and the knob to turn it on had been removed. The host lied to my face about it. Since the host replied after 2 years, here are more details: we were freezing under blankets. He told me to use the heater in the closet, a 10eur heater that smelled burnt when it started. We were afraid it might catch fire during the night. He eventually came and acted like he was fixing the heating and bleeding the radiators, but there was nothing to bleed because they were fully turned off. Have a good day, and I hope no one ever books here.

Breakfast left us confused. At first we understood it wasn't available because of corona, but another couple told us in the morning it was included at a nearby place. When we went there, we were asked to pay, while it was included for them. We're still not sure why. The breakfast itself was OK and not expensive. We booked by phone the day before arriving, though the conversation in English wasn't very clear. We could park in a small nearby lot and had room number one. It was tidy and clean, but had no windows. The bed felt as if previous guests had left an impression in it, and the mattress may have been a bit worn. The bathroom was spacious, with a barred window, though the shower was small. There was also an electrical device that couldn't be switched off and made an annoying noise overnight. It's not a bad place, but next time we'll probably look elsewhere.
