La Castellaccia

You can reach Florence, San Gimignano, and other interesting places from here without a long drive. The houses are modern and have everything you need, including the option to cook or barbecue in your own garden when the weather’s good. The pool is great too. Just be aware that the road into the complex is rough, so a car with low clearance may not suit it.

Elisa Mannozzi and her family are a big part of what makes La Castellaccia special. They’re naturally welcoming and work hard to meet guests’ needs, so I’d happily return and recommend it to friends. From the ridge, one side looks toward San Gimignano and its towers, while the other opens onto the Via Francigena and the Tuscan countryside. The apartments have a lovely Tuscan farmhouse style, with careful attention to local tradition and the environment. They’re well equipped, with Wi-Fi and a pool, and make it easy to unwind amid nature and history. There are also nature excursions nearby, as well as villages like Monteriggioni and art cities such as Siena and Florence.

We were already missing the place before we’d even left, and hope to come back soon. We spent a wonderful week tucked into the Tuscan hills, far from everything. Elisa welcomed us so warmly, with such natural kindness.

A magical, peaceful atmosphere in an enchanting place. If you need a rest, this is absolutely the spot.
