Hotel Le Colline

The views from the surrounding scenery were soothing, and spending time there felt refreshing and restorative. It was a special, extraordinary place to get away from everyday stress, and I found the experience deeply enriching and enjoyable.

Andreas was brilliant, and he arranged a shuttle for a fair fee. Breakfast was good, with savory options, and the staff were very friendly. The walk into the old town was longer than we'd have liked, since the route each day was a scenic, beautiful detour. Public buses weren't reliable at all. Even so, I definitely recommend the hotel.

We got there without a car, thanks to the bus stop right outside. The hotel is peaceful, surrounded by vineyards and wonderful views, and everyone on staff was kind. The owner, Donatella, was especially lovely. We also enjoyed Nina the dog. We tasted wine at the hotel, walked around the vineyards and heard Donatella explain about them. The wine was delicious, even though I'm not usually a red wine fan. There's a Tuscan restaurant next to the hotel with a wonderful dinner. We swam in the pool even with it 17C outside, and had fun. A really memorable Tuscany stay. We recommend it.

The staff were professional and helpful, our room was very clean and tidy, and breakfast was delicious. There are more than enough parking spaces if you're arriving by car. Renting a vespa outside the hotel is an option for exploring nearby areas without your own car. I hope the owner replaces all the room doors, though. The noise they make is unbearable. Walking to San Gimignano isn't a good idea if your fitness is poor: the route involves quite a climb on either a dusty local road or the very busy main road. I highly recommend this small hotel to anyone visiting the San Gimignano area.
