The best thing is simply sitting on the benches and taking in the view. It’s an amazing place, peaceful and quiet, with San Gimignano and the grape and olive trees all around. It’s about a 10-minute drive to town, and around an hour to Florence, Pisa, or the Chianti wine region. Go into San Gimignano before 10 or after 5 if you want to avoid parking trouble, especially on weekends. Pick up groceries in one of the towns on your way in, since there’s not much nearby. We stayed in the top floor apartment, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. My daughter loved having her own space. Everything was very clean, and Fabio (owner) was wonderful and engaging. He takes real pride in the place and gave me a tour. There’s water, wine, and soda downstairs for a small charge, a washer available for a fee per load, and an inviting pool. It was a little cold for us Floridians while the weather was still cool. The kitchen is equipped, though we ate out most of the time.
