Acero Rosso B&B

While looking after a relative in Bellaria hospital, I had a very good stay here. Having a private kitchen with all the equipment meant we didn’t need to eat out so often. The fresh breakfast brought to the room on request was amazing. There’s a shopping center within walking distance, and the hosts were unusually kind and helpful. I’ll remember this place if I’m back in Bologna.

The room was bright, clean, and well equipped, and at sunset its colors can lift your mood. The hosts were warm and attentive while still giving us space. Breakfast was generous and tailored to us, and the kitchenette came in handy for dinner. They also gave us plenty of tips about the area, shops, and restaurants. When we wanted a change from the quiet, downtown was a 20-minute bus ride away. We’ll be back.

I had a fantastic stay at Acero Rosso and would happily return. My room was always clean and tidy, had every comfort, and opened onto a large terrace with a breathtaking view over the hills and the city around it. The property is in the green Cicogna area of San Lazzaro, among Bologna’s parks, a lovely place to unwind on holiday or after a hard day at work. Everything you need is well served nearby. The owner was welcoming, kind, and always available whenever I needed something.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. For a month I paid €900 plus a €500 deposit, which I did get back, and the price felt far too high for what was offered. It’s a converted room rather than a proper apartment, and the owner lives next door, so privacy is limited and you can hear everything. The room is very small and not suited to a long stay, especially if you like spending time at home. The bathroom area is so cramped it’s unusable if you’re taller than 1.80 meters. During the weekly linen change, the owner rearranged my belongings to suit her preferences, even inside the closet, without being asked. Calling it a B&B seems true only on paper.
