Osteria Belvedere

The location is superb, but the meal let me down. I ordered pasta ragu, and it was cooked like fast food. I came to Italy hoping for tasty dishes. The tiramisu was the worst I've ever had, with barely any mascarpone and dry biscuits.

I arrived exhausted from a bicycle tour, and Sonia and her family were incredibly kind and patient, even during the busiest part of Saturday night. They got me a room, loaded my bike, and made sure I had something to eat. The views are stunning and the food was excellent. Thank you so much!

The weather kept us from really seeing the views, though we could tell they must be fantastic. We had booked online very late and hadn't realized we'd be driving up to a mountain fortress, so getting there was quite a treat. The inn has only three rooms, and we were the only guests. Gianlucca (probably spelled wrong) spoke enough English to check us in and help us order dinner. The wood-fired pizza was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. Breakfast was the one disappointment: just a little hard bread and cheese with coffee. I didn't expect a full spread with no other guests, and since we'd booked and arrived so late, it seemed they may not have been prepared for guests that morning. The food wasn't great, but the older gentleman I think was Gianluca's dad (?) served it with a smile. It's mainly a restaurant, and I think it would make a lovely date night for a good meal, a couple glasses of wine, and an overnight stay. All in all, a fantastic experience.

The staff were really welcoming and nice, and the location in San Leo comes with an amazing view. I didn't get a chance to have dinner, but I'd really like to return and stay for more than one night. Highly recommended!
