Petra made breakfast a real highlight every morning. She was warm, professional, and always ready to help, and the spread had fruit, cheese, ham, porridge, different eggs, and especially good bread. We also appreciated the chef making our baby’s food without salt when we asked. We enjoyed many of the starters and some soups, and the desserts were tasty, though the main courses didn’t always measure up and a few dishes were over-salted. The traditional buffet on the Tiroler holiday was a nice touch. We stayed eight nights. The website’s description of the hotel as newly opened in 2021 was a little confusing, since it has a long history and was recently renovated. Our alpine rose room was clean and warm, if a bit dated in its finishes, and housekeeping did a very good job each day. The town is small but lively, with restaurants, bakeries, shops, and supermarkets. It’s a great base for hiking and exploring, with lovely nature and mountain views nearby. Some staff could be more cheerful, but others clearly go out of their way to make the hotel special. I’d come back, and would give it four stars. More music in the dining room would help, since it sometimes felt very quiet. Ventilation in the dining and reception areas could also be improved, as our clothes sometimes picked up food smells.
