Hotel Riviera dei Fiori

It’s a family-friendly, fairly quiet hotel, but it feels like its better days are behind it. Our room was worn and poorly equipped. The staff seemed lazy, as if we were a nuisance and they had better things to do than their jobs. That was especially true of the tall male waiter in the restaurant.

The hotel itself is decent, but I found it very overpriced compared with the facilities and service you can get in other countries at this price. We booked half board so we wouldn't have to worry about meals. Dinner was really good, but it took the waiters over two hours to bring all four courses, far too long for our baby to wait. After a couple of days, we switched to lunch. Only one waiter on the team spoke English, and he wasn't there every night. He also seemed to be the only one who knew about the seating plan. When we got home, we found the same place on the voyage-prive website for a third of what we paid. At that price, we would have been completely satisfied.

We really enjoyed our stay and came home relaxed. The location is wonderful, and we stayed in a ground-floor place with direct beach access, so we could head out for a morning swim in the lovely sea. The place was good quality, and the staff were very nice, though sometimes there weren't many of them around. The kitchen was the weak point. Lunch choices were boring and generic, and they didn't know how to make an omelette. My wife and I both ended up with upset stomachs.

We came to explore the San Lorenzo area and were very happy with the choice. The hotel was beautiful, and the staff made us feel welcome. Our lovely room had a balcony and a bed, with an amazing view of the private beach. We also enjoyed the food at the restaurant. Thank you, everyone. We'll come back!
