Malucri Resort

Parking inside the resort was easy, and the room was cleaned every day. The pizzeria was lovely too. Its pizza costs a little more than at other restaurants in San Giovanni Rotondo, but it was one of the best I’ve ever had, so it was worth paying extra.

The countryside around the property was lovely, and the sound of cowbells was a nice change of pace. We stayed two nights because it was close to San Marco in Lamis. The rooms were okay, but there were no coffee or tea facilities in them. Both nights, pizza was the only option because there was no chef.

The hotel looks beautiful and is in a stunning location, and the restaurant service was lovely. I hope Malucri improves, because I’d go back if they made at least some of the changes I mentioned. The spa pool was one of the worst parts of the stay. I know it’s shared with other hotel guests, but it wasn’t clean at all. There were bandages, dirt, and even big clumps of hair around the edge. The water seemed like regular water and smelled unpleasant. I’d like them to clean the pool. The Wi-Fi was poor, and sound came straight through the door from the hallway, even though the walls were well insulated. I was also startled by maintenance noise upstairs during the day. I don’t mind work being done then, but guests should at least be told. The air conditioning wasn’t working well, and when we asked them to turn it down, they never really did. Drinks in the minibar weren’t very cold, though perhaps the room was hot. The room itself was pretty and very clean, but the bathroom walls needed cleaning. I haven’t stayed in many hotels, so I can’t call myself an expert, but to me this didn’t feel like a four-star hotel.

We arrived late with our tour group, and I couldn’t get my room door open with the key. I waited at reception for ten minutes while they fixed it. Other people in the group were left waiting outside their rooms until midnight for them to be cleaned.
