The panoramic views and ideal location made my stay at Illario’s place absolutely wonderful. I’d highly recommend it to everyone!

The room had no air conditioning or TV, although the website says every room has both. There were no screens on the windows either. The next morning, I asked the housekeeper, who was kind and helpful, whether a fan might solve the problem. Ten minutes later the owner called me. He said no one had complained in four years and he couldn’t bring a fan because he lived in Salerno. He then told me I could leave if I didn’t like it. Draw your own conclusions!

The location was very convenient, right under the main road connecting Monopoli to the surrounding area. Alberobello, Ostuni, Polignano, and other beautiful towns were about half an hour away. The road is noisy, but the windows block it out perfectly, so we slept without trouble. The rooms were recently renovated, spotlessly clean, and well furnished. Because of COVID, breakfast wasn’t a buffet. We arranged what we wanted with the manager, and that’s what we got. The family owners were extremely friendly and available whenever we needed something. Towels were changed and the room deeply cleaned every two days. We asked for an extra towel change, too, and they did it without hesitation. Highly recommended!

There was plenty to make our stay comfortable: towels, a hairdryer, toilet paper, a generous breakfast left in the room, and a laundry machine in a common area with somewhere to hang clothes. The house itself felt safe and comfortable, despite the owner's lack of attention, and the sea and mountain views were splendid. It’s a welcoming, spacious property, with large shared areas and two terraces for guests. But we never met the owner, not even at checkout, and they didn’t ask how our stay had gone. A young man handled check-in in a rushed, superficial way and didn’t seem prepared to welcome new guests. We weren’t given clear information and had to work out the keys ourselves. The room had no soundproofing, so we could clearly hear conversations from other guests in their “private” rooms. The mattress was very firm but pleasant. The single pillow per person was uncomfortable and much too hard, not soft at all. I recommend the property for its amenities, but I was very disappointed not to meet the owner.
