Sleeping in the apartment was really uncomfortable. We were there in late June for a wedding, paying €200 a night for a place with excellent staff, facilities, and location, but the air conditioning didn’t work in 36-degree heat and there was no alternative. That’s unacceptable, especially with my wife and our one-year-old.

The botanical garden has lots of very old plants, which must have been brought back by travelers centuries ago. It’s a beautiful place packed with history, with a lovely host and a pretty pool. Castle lovers will feel right at home here. We had an amazing time and will come back.

The grounds and castle are jaw-droppingly impressive, with a gorgeous Italian mountainside setting and a rose garden to hang out in. Luca and his family are lovely hosts, and it’s very child friendly. We’ve stayed a few times now, and this is firmly one of our family’s favorite Italian haunts. Always a wonderful stay, and the best B&B I’ve been to by a mile.

The castle itself was amazing, and our rooms were clean and nice. We spent some relaxing time by the small, beautiful swimming pool and enjoyed the gardens too. We loved our stay and would recommend the castle to anyone traveling in the area.
