My son and I stayed at Casa Sul Monte for 10 days because the apartment up the road wasn’t large enough for all of us. Rob and Betty have been friends for quite a few years and are always lovely and friendly. Unfortunately, I became ill and spent four or five days in hospital. Rob was amazing: he came with me and translated, and his care and support made a stressful situation much easier. The apartment is lovely and relaxing, with amazing views. Highly recommended.

We came looking for a casale with a pool where we could get away from everyday life, and happened to find Robert and Betty’s place. The photos don’t do justice to the work they’ve put into it, or to the incredible view from the pool. The casale is stunning, right in the middle of Umbria. Robert and Betty are the best hosts we’ve met. They were so kind to us, and we’ll definitely be back.

The apartments are spotless and well cared for, with high ceilings, big bathrooms, and an eclectic collection of artwork from the owners’ travels. There are two large ground-floor apartments that can be connected for bigger groups. It feels nicely away from everything, though a short drive takes you to lots of gorgeous medieval cities perched on mountain tops. A really lovely place to stay, highly recommended.

This was our fourth visit to Casa sul Monte, and we feel at home in this lovely house. It has everything you could want for a relaxing break. Rob and Betty make sure the stay is carefree, offering wonderful hospitality and privacy while staying in the background. We love the excellent cuisine, spacious garden, and wonderful pool. There’s no need to hesitate if you’re planning a holiday or weekend getaway. Nearby trips include Orvieto and Perugia, along with lots of restaurants; Rob can offer more tips.
