Maison Antoinette

The room’s AC worked well, and we’d happily stay here again. It’s about a 10-minute walk to San Vincenzo town, with lots of restaurants in the cozy center. We only stayed one night and didn’t get a chance to try breakfast. The staff were kind and helpful. We didn’t have cash for the tourist tax, which the hotel only accepted in cash, and had to drive to Piombino in the morning. They let us leave without paying because we were in a hurry, and we really appreciated that.

The terrace room didn’t really work for us with two dogs. All the terraces are joined, so the dogs could bother the neighbors if they went outside. They do accept dogs, but I wouldn’t recommend this B&B for dog owners. Breakfast was decent but almost all sweet. For the savory option, there was a sandwich ordered on arrival and a croissant from a local bakery, and that was what we had each day. Cleaning was okay: the floors were mopped only every few days, and towels changed every three days. An average B&B, probably fine if you’re not fussy.

The studio was a pleasant surprise, spacious and practical, with a full kitchen and utensils, air conditioning, good linens and towels, and a spotless bathroom. It felt comfortable and had everything we needed. During our five days, the linens were changed. Breakfast was a small buffet of brioches and focaccias with different fillings, and we could change our choices daily. They even gave us a bag to take food to the beach or back to the room, which was handy. The location made everything walkable, and the price seemed fair for what was included. The blonde receptionist with glasses was kind, helpful, and explained things thoroughly, though I can’t remember her name. Mrs. Radja, who works at breakfast and in housekeeping, was always polite, helpful, and smiling, and made a real difference to the welcome. Thomas felt less approachable and friendly, though he did his job well. They responded positively to every request we made. We had a very good stay, and I’d recommend this B&B.
