What a cozy place! Dolomiti Sport Hotel is a lovely hotel that's been run across generations, with warm staff. They provide breakfast and a tea break for guests. I really liked the savory strudel with cheese and mushrooms, as well as the baked cookies. When I had to leave early the next morning, the hotel kindly packed me a bag of food for breakfast.

Google Maps sent me behind the property instead of to the main entrance, so double-check where you're going. Once there, Katia was patient and so kind, and the service was top-notch. They can pack breakfast for an early start, and there's plenty of parking on site. A fantastic base in the Dolomites!

This family-run place felt much more connected to the area than a basic chain hotel. Katai and Emile were terrific, with tips on attractions, roads, crowds, shopping, and restaurants, and they checked in with us whenever we came back. The mountain view was lovely, the rooms very clean, and the water pressure fantastic. I especially liked having outlets by the bed. There were tasty appetizers at happy hour each day, the bar seemed to be available at almost any time, and there was plenty of ice. We had a delightful stay.

Before our stay, I received a suspicious email after booking through Booking.com. It asked for my credit card details on a questionable webpage. I suspect the hotel's Booking.com access may have been hacked, or that a dishonest employee could be involved, but I don't know. If you booked through Booking.com and get a request for card details, don't enter them. This wasn't a review of the hotel itself. After staying, I found the staff very helpful. Our basic quad room had a king bed and a separate room with two single beds, and the shower had good pressure. We had a small deck with mountain views. Like the other apartments and hotels we've used in Italy, there were no window screens, so bugs kept us from leaving the windows open at night for the cool air. The garage was easy to access, though when leaving you have to get out of the car to open its door. Breakfast was good, with eggs, which aren't so common at Italian breakfasts, and donuts you could fill with several flavors. Our navigation system got confused and led us off the main road into a neighborhood. The hotel is actually right on the main road, with a small outdoor parking area before it when arriving from the south.

The hotel is right on the bike path, and the concierge was a big help getting us in touch with our final hotel to arrange a bag transfer. The afternoon snack and breakfast were both delicious. The beds were very comfortable, though the bathtub was very high. Get a room with a balcony! I spent one night here while hiking Alta via to refuge, San Marco and refuge Pietro Galassi. The pizza place in town was OK, but next time I'd look for good Italian food. I don't know where to find that here, maybe at a nearby Refugio, though the timing didn't work for us for dinner there. I'd also have someone drive me up to the ski lift at Refugio Scotter, since walking up the road was pretty boring. If you can book directly with the hotel, do that.
