Wow!

Olive trees stretch across the surroundings, and the lights make everything feel especially romantic. The farmhouse dates back to the 16th century and has been carefully restored, even including a consecrated church. Nardo, a charming typical village, is only about 10 minutes away. We didn't care much for the nearby restaurants, but drive 20-30 minutes and there's something for every budget. A great spot for peace and relaxation, especially if you enjoy history and stories of the past.

La Maestà is a historic Salento residence made from a 17th-century farmhouse. It has the feel of a real masseria, without extra frills or luxuries, and is a lovely choice for quiet countryside while staying within a few kilometers of Nardò and Gallipoli. Lecce is 30 km away. Near Sannicola, each room and apartment has its own character, with original furnishings and features alongside a kitchenette, flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and double-glazed windows. Our apartment was spotless and well equipped, with biscuits and taralli for breakfast. There are tables, gazebos, and barbecue facilities outdoors, plus a small consecrated church on the grounds. It's family-run: Pasquale takes care of administration, and Roberta welcomed us warmly. She made us feel at home and was always there to help with little issues or share useful tips about attractions, routes, trattorias, and restaurants nearby. We definitely recommend a visit to La Maestà. Thank you!

La Maestà is a welcome stop for anyone who appreciates landscape and nature with an open mind. It's a refreshing chance to switch off, away from the constant pull of social media, and enjoy the old architecture, countryside, and quiet. The welcome is warm, and the residence has a sense of ancient history. The sea is about 10 minutes away. In peak summer, I'd choose one of the many private beach resorts to avoid the chaotic teenage crowds at the public beaches, where young people seem drowsy after sleepless nights in Gallipoli.
