La Locanda Azzurra

The only person who was nice and tried to help was the lady with blonde hair. The rest of the stay was awful. The women running the place yelled at us and seemed angry. We were shouted at for asking for an extra key, and the place smelled bad. The room was disgusting and looked nothing like the pictures. I had to clean the shower heads myself. I hope women reading this see my review. We paid nearly 250 euro for one night, and it was such a terrible experience I started to cry. You don’t get a pool towel, and you have to pay extra for a pool lounger. We were told we could only use the chairs meant for sitting, not lying down. The pool tiles...

The location was misleading, and our room had no balcony. It looked over the neighboring garden and a garbage alleyway. The place is very run down and scruffy, nothing like the photos. It could be lovely if it were painted and updated, but it didn’t look clean, especially outside. The footpath and car park were in bad condition. You have to pay for a pool bed, which seems ridiculous given the price. The coffee was desperate. The card keys were terrible: ours had to be redone twice, and the woman told us not to go out without all the cards or leave them in a bag or pocket with a phone. She wasn’t pleasant about it. Apart from the guy at the pool bar and one woman, the staff seemed and acted like they didn’t care. There’s the makings of a nice place here if someone puts in the work, but in my opinion the advertising is really false.

The pictures fooled me into booking a last-minute night, and I regretted it. Our room smelled of old mildew, the bathroom was dirty, and the whole hotel felt dirty, outdated, and like it was falling apart. We were beside the restaurant, where the walls were paper-thin, and the beds were hard. It felt more like an old tennis club than a hotel. Overpriced. Stay away.

We had a horrible night. The toilet leaked, the cleanliness and reception were appalling, and the outside air conditioner vibrated against the wall loudly enough that we slept with the noise. I can’t understand how Booking.com offers this accommodation. It felt like a complete rip-off. Seriously, avoid this place at all costs!
