The flat was pretty small, cramped, and damp, so it wasn’t really suited to four people, though we made it work since we’re all slim. In San Remo, that seems to be the tradeoff, either this kind of place or a hotel. The owner deserves credit for stocking it with what you might need, including air conditioning, a heater, a coffee maker, a stove, and an oven. We were also happy to find a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived.

The owner was friendly and quick to answer our questions. The apartment is compact but cozy, with everything we needed, right in the city center in a historic neighborhood.
