Nyala Suite Hotel Sanremo

The room prices are very fair, and parking was included, so it isn’t expensive at all. The hotel has a nice 1970s charm. Some small repairs are needed, but the rooms are clean and pleasant, and there’s a lovely clean pool surrounded by palm trees. There’s private parking and a stunning view. I’d definitely recommend it, especially if you need a safe place to park.

We’ve stayed here before and will be back soon. The restaurant is wonderful, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. It’s conveniently close to the motorway when travelling, although the roads to and from the hotel are narrow and a bit awkward in a larger vehicle. The hotel and its staff make that worthwhile. Definitely recommend it.

The room had a large balcony facing the ocean, and dinner was very tasty. The restaurant offered a three-course set menu with choices for 35 euros. Reception welcomed me politely around noon, and they had my room ready within 25 minutes, even though check-in normally starts at 3 pm. The hotel is in a residential area, so you need a car to get to San Remo city center. Nice and Monaco are about an hour away by car.

The view is beautiful and the reception staff were kind, but the cleaning staff and breakfast waiters were extremely impolite and never smiled. One cleaner even asked us to leave our room so she could clean it. The room was dirty, with an empty plastic bottle left by previous guests beside the desk. It’s also nowhere near deserving four stars, and the rooms don’t look as nice as the photos. The restaurant felt like a highway truck stop, didn’t have enough space for the guests, and our room service arrived cold. It’s an okay hotel, but far below four-star standard and not worth the price. I don’t recommend it.
