Il Casale Del Barone

Really great.

Cristina's recipes are hard to forget. The place feels like a little retreat, with a lovely pool and plenty of garden space to unwind. It's also in a peaceful area that's easy to reach, and the welcome is both courteous and professional.

We came back in July after a really positive stay. The chalet was spotless, with a new, working kitchen stocked with dishes, which came in handy for keeping a medicine refrigerated. There were extra blankets and pillows in both bedrooms, and the clean bathroom even had a hair dryer. We needed two nights on site, and Il Casale del Barone Country House turned out to be just right. The staff were kind and helpful. Although we arrived in the late afternoon, giving them a couple of hours' notice was enough for them to prepare a generous dinner. Breakfast was included in the price and had plenty of options. A lovely, dependable B&B.

The food is a big part of the appeal, from the quality ingredients and good wines to desserts that are easy to fall for. The staff are attentive and polite, and the whole place has that looked-after, family feel, like staying with old friends. My room was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully furnished, with flowers and candles. It’s an enchanting property, managed with care down to the little details, and I can see it working for an event, a weekend away, or a memorable lunch or dinner. Still my favorite place.
