Il Tulipano

We found this family-run place welcoming and clean, with a great location for visiting the Amalfi Coast and excellent value. The people were lovely and helpful, and breakfast was generous, especially the delicious homemade cakes. Right across from the property, Mezzaluna serves fantastic pizza and pasta with a panoramic view, at very reasonable prices. That’s a real plus with how expensive the coast can be. Highly recommended.

We chose this place because of the breakfast photos, but at check-in we learned breakfast is only served in summer. We were told to get a cappuccino and croissant at the bar across the street instead. On a rainy night in early November, the kind woman who greeted us explained they rarely have guests out of season. The apartment was very cold and damp. There was heating, but it was switched off. It had shelves and electrical outlets, but no TV. The double bed was missing a lamp, and there were no blankets. The bedspread was very dusty. There was a kettle and herbal tea, but no mugs for making a hot drink. Unfortunately, the stay didn’t work out.

We’re grateful to Giorgio and Maria for their remarkable kindness and help. They made this vacation a special one. We’d gladly recommend the B&B for its peaceful setting, welcoming local people, and handy position close to Sorrento, Capri, and the Amalfi Coast. The staff were fantastic, and the property is conveniently placed for the coast’s beautiful, typical spots, including Positano and Amalfi. Sorrento center is easy to reach too.
