We got there at 8:15 PM, but the appetizer didn't come until 10:30 PM, and the pizza arrived at 12:45 AM. I won't believe them again after that. The pizza was awful, thin, and swimming in oil. The garden was broken and dirty, with a caraoche inside playing the same unbearable songs over and over. I would've pulled the plug. They kept telling the waiters the pizzas were coming and said they were cooking, but they still had to make the dough 😕😕🫤

The location is convenient and not far from the center, and the view is the one thing I’d recommend. The room had a roomy balcony and felt cozy, but it was dirty and the bathroom was disappointing. Getting there was a mess. The place looked like a neglected shack from outside, nothing like the photos. In the sitting room, the refrigerator seemed broken, and there were display cases with jewelry and snacks. Staff came across as rude and grumpy. An older man greeted us without knowing what to say, then another man at the so-called reception took his time asking only the basics before calling someone, apparently his wife. I think she was the same woman I’d booked with about two weeks before our trip. We heard the CoopVoce unavailable-number message repeat for at least 10 minutes while he kept trying. I got impatient, though my colleagues stayed calm, and stepped outside for a smoke. The owner answered just after I crossed the threshold. There was another mix-up about how many days we were staying, and she insulted us very easily. One colleague silently laughed at my unhappy expression. When John noticed, he jumped in and made a fuss, leaving one of the younger people I’d come with uncomfortable. I explained I hadn’t meant to denigrate anyone, and eventually we got to our room. Sant'Egidio isn't among the best hotels, in my opinion.
