We got back around midnight after failing to find another place, mainly because we had two small children. We were gone again at 6:00 in the morning and didn't even get to have breakfast. The room had looked quite nice in the photos, but on arrival Mr. Stefano demanded payment straight away, then showed us what he called a room. It was more like a garage, with beds and a dreadful bathroom with an old shower curtain. There was a cobwebby ceiling corner, blood stains on the walls, and a broken curtain rod. I had to fix it so the curtain wouldn't fall on my face while I slept. Just outside, in a patch of land with pine trees, we spotted a mouse and dead birds. I told the owner about all of it. He only offered to discount the amount I'd already paid if I wanted.

We spent two days here and it felt like home. Serena makes you feel as though you've known her forever, and you can see how much she loves her work. Her cakes were fantastic, and breakfast was generous and tasty, with high-quality organic packaged products. The B&B is beautiful, with a lovely garden and a pool with a bar. The rooms stay cool with air conditioning, and the bathrooms were spotless and stocked with quality personal-care products. The attention to detail is meticulous. Congratulations!

The owner's cakes are good, though the rest of breakfast was poor. The town feels like a dead end, but Porto Badisco and Santa Cesarea aren't far away. The rooms are tiny and hot, and the online size information is way off. There are no windows in the rooms or bathrooms, no closets, and nowhere to sit apart from a few pouffes. The roof is bricked up, and the doors have faulty locks.

The welcome is lovely, and they really pamper you. Breakfast is varied and excellent. The rooms feel dated, though, and the bathroom is uncomfortable, with a shower curtain. For the standard of the rooms, the prices seem a bit high.

Serena is in a class of her own, and the rooms are lovely and clean. The pool is always available. It's a great spot for reaching Santa Cesarea Terme, with its cliffs over clear water, as well as Otranto, the Alimini, and Castro. You should come here.
